Subject:Original 1920s Japanese Art - Can anyone tell me anything about it?

Hi There,
When living in Tokyo back in 2003, I purchased this large painting, purely because of its beauty. I believe it's from the 1920s and was either mounted on a ceiling or large wall. I know nothing about the artist or the painting and would love to learn more about it. Can anyone help?
