Posted By: John Sun, Jan 29, 2017 IP: 92.40.248.184

Hi does anybody know the mark/stamp? It is a impressed 4 pointed flower symbol, could be a lotus flower. Can anybody help and do they know the origin and time period of this marking.
Thank you.

Dear John,
It is a visvajra(or double vajra),a buddhist symbol, not a mark that could date a piece.it is also found on recent pieces.Your buddha doesn't seemms very old,but I could tell more with better photos.
Best regards,
Rémy

Possibly a butterfly, symbol of reincarnation to Buddhists. Not sure what it means regarding age or maker of the image.
