Subject:lacquer tilt top table
Posted By: david Fri, Feb 03, 2017 IP: 2607:fea8:1d5f:fe45:

Hello, Can anyone identify the signature on this lacquer tilt-top table? (Too; I wasn't certain if the red spots were part of the painting itself or the signature!). Any assistance with this query would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! David.

Possibly an early to mid-20th century example of European chinoiserie. The markings don't seem to be normal characters written by a native Chinese, Japanese or Korean calligrapher.

Best regards,

Bill H.
