Subject:Japanese Hand Painted Silk & Bamboo Fan
Posted By: Chris Sun, Feb 12, 2017 IP: 2a02:0c7d:5e7d:3a00:

Hi

I am trying to determine more about the age, origin and value of this Japanese fan that is inscribed on both outer sticks with calliagraphy which is hand carved. The fan itself has a hand painted theme, both sides which appears to display the 12 Zodiac signs, year of the tiger, monkey rabbit etc....

This is just about all I know about the piece, other than it seems to be quite a high quality item.

I would very much appreciate if somebody was able to translate the detailed calliagraphy and also assist in identifying the makers mark. I am also interested in learning the origin. Is it modern? Or vintage? Is is collectable? Does it hold any significant value?

Any help would be very much appreciated. I have uploaded 3 images, however you can also click on the link provided to view more images if need be.
