Subject:Need Help Identifying Pottery Stamp
Posted By: ZS5200B Wed, Sep 13, 2017 IP: 184.54.171.29

My wife bought a piece of pottery at a thrift store and noticed a mark on the bottom. Neither of us is at all familiar with East Asian characters, so we were hoping someone could help us determine what the marking means in case it may be worth more than the $4 she paid for it. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. (Please forgive me if the pictures I took are not oriented correctly for the writing haha)

Here's a picture, for some reason it didn't post to the original message.

Picture posting problems almost inevitably are due to the byte size exceeding 100kb per upload. I believe I've heard mention of some websites that offer resizing of photos, but I've never tried them. If nothing else works for you, I'd suggest purchasing some entry-level digital photo-processing software, such as Photoshop Elements. Some photo-sharing web services also accommodate use of the forum's link URL.

Good luck,

Bill H.

This is a good tool for resizing your photo's:
http://www.resizer.nl/en.html

I use it myself to put pictures on the forum.
On the other hand, with Microsoft Office Picture Manager one can also change the format of a photo (bigger or smaller) by entering a percentage.

Martin.

Thanks for the info, guys. I'm not home right now so I will hopefully try again to post a picture tomorrow or Monday. I'm guessing the problem is that I'm trying to upload directly from my phone.
It's a bit frustrating that because there is a day delay in posting, I can't tell right away if the picture worked.
Anyhow, thanks again.
