Subject:Very Early Chinese / Japanese Watercolor Painting Need Signature Translation - Thanks!!

Thank You for your Time and Effort on this I believe to be a very Early either Chinese or Japanese true Watercolor Painting of a Rooster. Has Signature and Block Stamp. Painting is on old & fragile believe to be rice paper. Measures 15 x 11 Inches. Thank You Very Much for your Valuable Help!! Sincerely, Gary Knudtzon

The signature of of artist is an another picture of bird in shape of a character (鳥) or bird.
This is a so called character picture or Moji-e.
The use of character pictures was a kind of game in the Edo period in Japan.
The seal depicts a cockscomb.
Your watercolor can be 100+ years old.

The bird shape signature like script is made up from 3 hiragana
syllabary おんどり ondori " Rooster".

Japanese I think but can't read the inscription or seal clearly. "Very early" means over 1,000 years ago in the context of paintings, this is closer to a tenth of that I would think.
