Subject:高山仰止

Just want to add my two cents worth on the translation of: (2nd picture)

高山仰止

高山 does mean a very tall (high) mountain. This four-character Chinese proverb 高山仰止 came from the Book of Poetry 詩經: 高山仰止,景行行止,雖不能至,心嚮往之

Using it today, it means a person who has reached such a high status/achievement that the rest of us can only look up at him without any hopes of ever be like him even though we really hope we can.

Super
