Subject:Pair of Asian bowls
Posted By: Reeves Thu, Jan 11, 2018 IP: 107.77.80.64 Hi I have 2 Asian bowls, I was wondering if someone could give me a opinion on them. There both glazed hand painted. I don't know if there modern reproductions or something from the 1800's. In my opinion I think there well done. Also I was wondering if someone could tell me what type of bowls these are. |

Posted By: Bill H Tue, Feb 06, 2018 These are fairly common Japanese decorative bowls, probably made in the Arita area and identifiable in your first photo above as transfer-decorated. They could have been purchased new from a better department store in the West or Asia during the late 20th century or subsequently with a paper label instead of fired-on marking. |
