Subject:Tang Dynasty Jar

Posted By: Andre Sun, Feb 25, 2018 I thought also before that it could be a Vietnamese Cham jar but the handles little bit look different, although similar. There was in Sotheby's a jar with similar handles and similar glaze color. |

Posted By: Robert Tue, Feb 27, 2018 The Sotheby's jar looks like it's lead glazed earthenware, but yours appears to be iron-ash glazed stoneware. I looked a some Tang Changsha ware jars, but could find none similar to yours. Maybe your jar is from another kiln, maybe it's pre-Tang? |

Posted By: Andre Tue, Feb 27, 2018 I saw similar jars in Indonesia and one that looks same as this but I think the sellers do not know the period. Thes sell them as late Tang, early Song, early Yuan etc. |
