Subject:Raised mark on base of octagonal jar
Posted By: Selby Cook Mon, Mar 05, 2018 IP: 2602:306:c4f2:cbe0:f Would anyone know if the raised mark shown on picture two is intended to be the Chinese numeral one? I believe the jar is Yuan Dynasty; however, the purple splashed glaze and ribbed motif also suggests the possibility of Ming, Wanli. There are also suggestions of fahua. |

Posted By: Selby Cook Wed, Mar 07, 2018 Thanks for info. Believe the inscriptions are Buddhist or Taoist. If anyone can interpret some of the language, I'd be most grateful. |
