Subject:Peking glass vase with Qianlong mark
Posted By: Mike Tue, Feb 05, 2008 IP: 67.53.0.10 I'm seeking comments on this Peking glass vase I found recently. It stands about 8.25 inches tall and is comprised of three layers of glass: white, pink, and green, respectively from the inside out. The base bears a four-character Qianlong mark in regular script. There are scratches all over the base, and around the body, and there are also a few minor chips here and there, but otherwise in excellent condition. |

Posted By: Greg Tue, Feb 19, 2008 Are the person selling this on ebay ? , if yes it is a very nice vase, but I still think you are asking too much. The vase is late 19th c. IMHO, the pink / green /white combo seems much used in that period, I am including a pic of a similar vase in the book (Treasures of Chinese Glass Work Shops 1997), which is dated to the 19th c. and also a vase in my own collection which I feel confident dating later 19th c., Greg |
