Hi, Could anybody give me any information at all about this carved camphor chest, 40"x20"x24"? I got it from a friend who was cleaning out her grandmothers basement. Is it a chest, a trunk, a blanket chest, etc? Other ones I have found on the net don't have the brass pieces on the side. There is a vague Chinese character in chalk on the bottom, but it doesn't photograph well.
