Message unfortunately there is nothing known about the artist of this work but a lot is known about the artist whose name is signed to this work. this is a recent Chinese painting (although in some ways it looks Japanese to me) that is signed as being painted by Giuseppe Castiglione, a Jesuit at the Qianlong emperor's court who is known for his paintings combining Chinese subject matter with western painting style.
