huanghuali or not? |
Posted By: TimG Posted Date: Nov 30, 2017 (06:06 AM) |
Message Hello. Sorry to say, your table is not huanghuali, but rather rosewood (huali) from the late 19th/early 2oth c. Huanghuali is prized for its beatiful color and wood grain, so generally the abundant carving on furniture (exemplified in your table) would deter from the woods natural beauty. There are exceptions, but the color and grain of the wood you show in your close up photo also shows it not to be huanghuali. Regards. Post a Response |
