Jade/Serpentine Pad |
Posted By: Patrick Norton Posted Date: Dec 13, 2011 (12:50 AM) |
Message I agree with Ernest on it might be man made and appearance to be turquoise or serpentine. China has been a minor source of turquoise for 3,000 years or more in the form of "compact nodules" and only a few carvings worked in a manner similar to jade exist in real turquoise. Even American turquoise is treated or enhanced soapstone, man made dyeing and impregnation of talc. To me the item has the appearance of man made turquoise. Blue green with black or brown veining techniques. Post a Response |
