Message I am no expert, but the seal reads 犬山 (dog mountain) which in Japanese is read Inuyama or Inoyama and is used as both a place name and as a surname. Inuyama ware is the name usually applied to ceramics made near Inuyama castle. A google search for "Inuyama ware" or ceramics should show some images of similar ware. The piece looks modern (after 1940s) but that is just a casual opinion. Cheers O Post a Response |
