Message This appears to be a Japanese plate. It has an apocryphal Ming Chenghua reign mark on the back. Other cobalt-decorated dishes with similar brown "pie-crust" rims were made around the late 19th and into the 20th century by the Yamatoku kiln in Saga Prefecture, Japan. However, I don't recall ever seeing one with a Ming-style mark like this. Best regards, Bill H. Post a Response |
