The detailing in your Jacquard-woven picture may be minute but your photos convey almost none of it. While I can't tell if the island's famous pagoda is shown, I'd guess this may be the Whampoa Anchorage, a stopover in the Pearl River Delta about midway between Macao and Canton (Guangzhou). It was a favorite of 19th century artists, such as the one who painted the scene of it shown at the link, from the Peabody Essex Museum collection in Salem, Massachusetts. Such paintings and old photos were reproduced on Jacquard looms during the first half of the 20th century for sale to tourists and others in China.

Best regards,

Bill H.
