Qianjiang porcelain plaque - Artist? Translation of Poem |
Posted By: Tim Posted Date: Jul 30, 2014 (08:07 AM) |
Message I just acquired this Qianjiang porcelain plaque. Would someone please provide a translation of the poem and identify the artist? I removed it from the frame - porcelain measures 16.5" x 11.75", but decorated area is 14.25" x 9". Frame measures 18.5" x 14.5". There were sections of rolled up newspaper used to keep the plaque from moving within the frame. I unrolled one and it turned out to be an ad for a Miller kyrosene stove (discounted from $5.25 to $3.99). From my research the ad is from the turn of the century. Thanks for the help! |
