carved lacquered wooden bowl |

Message I can not help with a translation, but I'm sure someone will provide a translation. However, regarding the age, the rough carving suggest this is tourist quality and quite modern. Good quality lacquer has dozens of layers of lacquer (the very best perhaps a hundred layers), to the extent that the underlying wood core would not be visibl (unless exposed due to damage). The carving should be smooth, organic, and highly detailed. In my opinion, your piece is not lacquered, but painted with enamel. Post a Response |
