Message I also have this possible 18th century Chinese-style chicken bowl, which appears to me likely to be from an English or other European maker as well. It lacks a "wipe line" on the bottom, but the white glaze there runs up the inner foot and onto the rim, which characteristic I also associate with Staffordshire. The hound in the cavetto looks a bit weird to me too, as does the matte overglaze blue though I suppose this could just be misfired. Best regards, Bill H. |
