Re: limited edition yixing teapot |
Posted By: mikeoz Posted Date: Jan 24, 2016 (08:55 PM) |
Message As you can see, this is number 31 of a limited edition of 100 pots. The main inscription says that this is in the style of a famous pot maker, Shi Da Bin 時大彬 (A.D.1580-A.D.1650). Apparently, he invented a method to make tea pots from the special Yixing clay. His pots are in the collections of the Shanghai History Museum, the Nanjing History Museum and the San Francisco Asia Art Museum. A clearer photo of the remaining marks should explain more about the reason for the limited edition. Post a Response |
