Hello Elke,

Nice looking piece you got there!

Regarding your question about the hall of make - it reads "hua Rong Tang Zhi" which translates simply to "Made in the Hua Rong Hall"

Hua Rong Kiln/hall was located in Southern China with a special niche for producing ceramic wares for the West. Their taste in design was heavily influenced by import demands from the west and so they shyed away from traditional Ming/Qing styles.

This explains your piece alot as it is very unique in design and evidently not traditional.

Is it so unfortunate that it broke while shipping however! we hope you're able to repair it!!

If you are ever curious to see if ceramic wares of similar sorts ever made it up onto auction please visit out site and do a little research!
