This is an unusual small brass Jambhala from the 18th c school of Zanabazar in Mongolia. Quite worn, it may well have been carried as a protective deity, and it shows some of the effect on immersion in water which is part of the worship of this god of wealth. Detail: 3/4 view - right Detail: back |
