A small thangka painting depicting Heyagriva

The image of Heyagriva the ‘horse necked one’ stands within a flaming nimbus. He is surmounted by a diminutive image of  (left to right) Tzongkhapa, Amitabha, and Khadub while below him is an image of Begtse, patron deity of Mongolia, flanked by  Leken Marpo, the Red Master of Life (left) and Rikpay Lhamo Begste’s sister/consort on a corpse-eating bear (right), all within a verdant, rocky landscape.
