Hanuman, the leader of the monkey army, his sword at his side, one hand on his hip and the other outstretched. He wears lavish jewellery and high temple sandals ( )and is garlanded with flowers, within a floral circle surmounted by a naga canopy which is flanked by peacocks. Below him is a diminutive warrior, representing his army. Hanuman is the god of strength, and a hero of the Ramayana. |
