The calm-faced figure of the Lord of Compassion, sensitively carved in Zitan wood stands in slight tribhanga pose wearing an ankle length dhoti and jewelled crown, belt, necklets and armlets. His high chignon topped with a lotus bud and cintimani. His right hand is held at his breast in the calming abhaya mudra, while his left hangs to his side in varada mudra, the gesture of granting wishes. Extensive pigment remains.
