A small Thangka painting

The painting in fine detail depicting Tzonkhapa, the founder of the Gelugpa (Yellow Hat) sect of Buddhism, seated on a lotus throne flanked by his two disciples. Above him within his heavenly palace sits Maitreya, the Buddha of the future while below him to the left is Yama, Lord of Death. A monk makes an offering in the lower right hand corner. Each of the images has bee blessed in Tibetan script to the reverse.
