A fine khaden with multiple patterned borders comprising cash coins and ‘flowers’ formed by joined jewels or norbu, as well as cartouches containing stylised flowers. These enclose a traditional ‘pearl’ borders surrounding in turn a lush brown filed of soft, abrashed natural browns with 3 large peonies to the centre and corners of stylised waves. The presence of ‘hot’ pinks and reds supports the date. |
