This red ochre pictograph features the three flaming jewels (norbu membar), a symbol of both the Bon and Buddhist faiths. The early example shown here has nine distinct tongues of fire issuing from the three jewels. This numerical composition and the Bon inscriptions and yungdrungs in the vicinity identify this pictograph as belonging to the Bon po. Probably early Buddhist period.
