Hinduism in Nepal
Goddess Indrani
Consort of Indra
Nepal; 17th century
Pigment on paper
Rubin Museum of Art
F1997.46.3 (HAR 100029)

These illuminated manuscript pages appear to be from a Nepalese Shaiva text depicting a wrathful black Bhairava, the white Shiva with five faces, the goddess Kumari riding on a peacock, and the goddess Indrani riding on a white elephant. This is a tentative identification based on iconography without textual evidence at this time.
