This expressive and graceful painted pottery dancing lady is 20½” tall. Her elongated sleeves wrap backwards and fold over showing motion and drapery. Her robed body has an almost hourglass configuration; her waist is accentuated with a tied sash. The robe is a rich white with light pastel accents on the sash and dark detail on the sleeves and inner robes. Her dark hair is tied back. The well modeled face has finely painted features; she appears to be almost smiling. Holes in her ear lobes indicate that at one time she had earrings.
