Subject:hongshan C-Dragon
Posted By: alex Sun, Aug 20, 2023 IP: 2a02:a462:5d7d:1:8d4 How old is this c-dragon? i don't know the type of stone but i think serpentine. It has iregular toolmarks and polish marks. Not perfectly smooth but in strokes?? |

Posted By: Brian Sun, Jul 06, 2025 Not Hongshan and not modern, large C-Dragons of this design are from the Han Dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD). The giveaway, if you analyze photos of enough examples, is that C-Dragons of this design are occasionally inscribed with Han characters, or coupled with characters that were popular during the Han Dynasty, such as Sanxingdui. |
