Dear Dana,

Since no experts have responded to your query, I—a Japanese language student with no formal expertise—will offer my layperson’s perspective.

To me, the mark appears to resemble a Kangxi to Qianlong period style (1736–1795). However, this does not necessarily indicate antiquity. On the contrary, I suspect it may be a 20th-century piece bearing a Qianlong-era mark.

For comparison, please review these examples of similar marks on later works:

You might also find this resource on Republican-era marks (1912–1949) helpful for further study:

Unfortunately, I cannot provide a full evaluation. A hands-on inspection by a qualified expert would be ideal for accurate assessment. Regrettably, even experts here may struggle to assist without physical examination.

Best regards,
Renato Araújo

I agree with you, later 20th century with a false Qianlong mark
