Dear Bruce,
I think you are absolutely right about the 500 Luohan motif. To my knowledge, this decor was first developed in the 18th century on porcelain and experienced a renaissance on vases in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, when it was particularly sought after. I found a similar example in the Sichuan University Museum, the link to which I have attached below. I have tentatively read the iron-red stamp mark (?) as

Luo(?) Li(?) Nian Zao (Luo Li year made), but unfortunately this still does not seem quite right to me.

The mark and the condition of the foot suggest to me that it was made in the late 19th century, and the Guangxu reign would fit well. The facial features also fit well with this period: A comparable vase with the same motif was also dated to the late 19th century by an auction house. Unfortunately, the foot is not shown in their photos.

I hope this helps you with your research. If you find out anything else, please let us know here, as the decoration is extremely interesting.

with kind regards

Madria

Yōngzhèng -title of reign- (1723-1735) of Aisin Gioro Yinzhen, 3rd emperor of the Qing Dynasty.

Thank You, I.Nagy. How could I not have seen this? Rookie mistake ... or maybe it's the onset of dementia or something ...
My apologies, Bruce.

All the best, Madria
