Subject:Pair of Chinese bronze brush pots?
Posted By: Gerry Gorman Fri, May 30, 2025 IP: 86.44.18.252

Asking for a friend. Pair of bronze two handled brush pots (I think). Very well cast and ornate. Lotus flowers, butterflies, 6 inches high. Can't make out the mark. Might be something about Shanghai. Any comments are always welcome. Gerry

A vase used to hold flower offerings.
Marking reads,
丹項斎 Danxianzhai
Searching on Chinese search engines does not yield any answers.

With regards,

Hi I.Nagy,

Thanks for your feedback and info. Today, I managed to handle the pots in person and I believe they are copper and not bronze and the mark is as you have identified. I assume that would be the maker? Any idea on age? Gerry
