Recent auction included this piece of rare Famille Rose Medallion.19th century landscapes with incredibly delicately painted birds and flora.

Not rare. Very crudely painted mid 19thcentury "rose medallion" ware.

You are right, the motif appears only rarely. Whether it is really t h a t rare is another matter. I have included some links below that show similar pieces. I found a reference to a rose medallion plate that was published in an old catalogue:
‘The Canton Famille Rose Porcelains from the Alma Cleveland Porter Collection in the Peabody Museum of Salem’: You may want to compare your porcelain with the one on page 26. You can easily find the book online for free.

Late 19th century, around 1875. If you want to sell or would like an estimate, please contact an auction house, as this site is not intended for appraisals.
