This map of the tokaido n°12 print by Kuniyoshi shows stations at the bottom of lake biwa up to Kyoto. Is the village I circled Kusatsu?

Dear Francis,

I think the cartouche you circulated is not Ōtsu (大津). which could refer to Ōmoto, (大本神社, Ōmoto-jinja)a place name of a shrine. Ōtsu was not cropped in this cut. I think you can see Ōtsu 大津 below 京都 Kyoto, but at right side, along with other informations on this location.
