Subject:Help with Satsuma Vase Mark
Posted By: Aaron at APEX Sat, Jun 28, 2025 IP: 101.186.161.46

Hello folks,
I recently purchased this Satsuma Earthenware Vase however the mark on the base has got me stumped.
If anyone would be so kind as to provide a translation & any information, I would be most grateful.
Many thanks in advance for any information.

Dear Aaron,

The answer was already sent to other message board two days before that.

二丸 (Nimaru)—a known mark of the Maruni & Co. pottery studio in Kobe (active 1920–1940)—viewed upside down (a common occurrence with pottery marks).

Best regards,
Renato
