Subject:Can someone identify please?
Posted By: Stevers Sun, Jul 06, 2025 IP: 98.121.178.37

I have this 10" tall vase with a mark underneath that I cannot identify. Is there someone that can tell me if it is Japanese or Chinese?
Any help is much appreciated.

Nice one! I would say Japanese, maybe second quarter 20th century, but it is hard to say from the small pictures. The Japanese origin is indicated by the shape with the the slender body and the long neck and gnerrally the use of the character 山 in the mark as well. On the foot a mark with two characters; the first one I cannot tell, maybe something like 圻. The last one is "zan" 山. Propably makers mark. Though it could be read in chinese as well ....
Japanese Mountain Yama(?)
Chinese: Qishan

This is propably still incorrect. Others are more versed in the languages here, especially @I. Nagy
