The commentary on Ito Chuta's Sketch 366 titled "The Middle Class Weeps in Hunger" (餓に無く中流) by Shimada Saburō (島田三郎), signing as Shōnan (沼南) uses a well-known quote from Analects 16.1 reading, I believe: 有國有家者不患寡 而患不均不患貧而 患不安蓋均無貧和 無寡安無傾 ("Those who govern states or lead great families do not worry about scarcity, but rather about inequality; they do not worry about poverty, but rather about instability. For where there is equality, there is no poverty; where there is harmony, there is no scarcity; and where there is stability, there is no danger of collapse." [See link below] I could use help in confirming the transcription of the introduction to this quote reading (I think): 總額増加せらるも分配合を失へは却て危殆を招かん and the final lines possibly reading 彩毫一揮孔聖治世の訓誡を表示して遺憾無き才筆???かふ. (end of last line is giving me problems.) My best, Irwin
