Subject:"Fu" Character on Bowl
Posted By: Victor Martinez Fri, Mar 13, 2026 IP: 69.139.9.47

Hello-
I'm wondering why the "fu" character on this mark looks different from what I'm used to seeing- it seems to be missing the left part. Could anyone please explain this and how it changes the meaning?
Thank you

萬冨攸同 Wa
Wànfù yōutóng - Myriad blessings come together in harmony

冨(fù)and 福 (fú) are different characters with similar overlapping meanings

冨 rather material blessings - wealth, opulence etc.
福 blessings as good fortune, happiness etc.

With regards,
I.Nagy
