Subject:japanese bronze alter vase
Posted By: Susan Thu, Mar 19, 2026 IP: 172.59.200.152 -I have a Japanese bronze altar vase (usubata form) with a flared rim, phoenix bird relief band, dragon-head ring handles, and lobed pedestal base. The patina suggests Meiji period (1868–1912). The base has a two-character stamped mark that reads 宗甫 (Sōho?) with possible additional characters to the right. Could anyone help identify the maker and period? Photos attached." |
