Subject:2 Chinese Scrolls - Liu Jiyou??
Posted By: Chelsea Fri, Mar 20, 2026 IP: 76.238.198.207

Hi all,

I'm researching a large collection of Chinese scroll paintings. I've attached two images for which I cannot find the artists. Both seals and subjects bear some similarities to Liu Jiyou (Chinese, 1918-1983) but I can't find exact matches for either.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? I really appreciate your help!

Thank you,
Chelsea

Both works are indeed claiming to be works by Liu, but I'm not sure of where to check to get a definite source on his seals. You can try the Zhejiang University seal database, which doesn't always load. It compiles images of seals from a number of reference works: http://diglweb.zjlib.cn:8081/zjtsg/zgjcj/index1.htm

Thanks for the correction! Second picture is indeed signed Liu Kuiling rather than Liu Jiyou
