Subject:Chinese Scroll with Restaurant Scenes 230.80
Posted By: Chelsea Sat, Apr 04, 2026 IP: 76.238.198.207

Hello,

I'm unable to find the artist of this scroll. Different from the others I have, it shows little vignettes with restaurant/daily life scenes. I have found similar images by an artist named Wen Xia (also known as Boyang) but they don't seem to match seals. As always, any help is appreciated.

Thank you!
CHelsea

This is Weng Xia alias Boyang

Seals,
萬事如意 May your wishes come true
北京民俗 Beijing Folk Customs
劉氏 Master Liu
(An inexplicable seal impression — perhaps an unknown nickname or a publisher's mark.)

Wen Xia 文侠, also known as Boyang 伯陽, was born in 1957 in Hebei Province and now resides in Beijing. He is a renowned professional folk painter in China. Mr. Boyang is currently a contracted painter and calligrapher of the Beijing Yunmo Painting and Calligraphy Academy, and his works are mainly sold to Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, the United States, and other places. His artistic masterpieces have been collected by many museums and art galleries.

With regards,
I.Nagy
