Anonymous series 'Ōmi hakkei' (近江八景 - The eight views of Ōmi), view of 'Mii no banshō' (三井晩鐘 - Evening bell at Miidera), 1770s.

No signature or publisher's mark.

Hello, thank you very much for your help. Is there a website where one could see other prints from the same series? best.

近江八景
三井晩鐘
Ōmi hakkei
Mii no banshō
The Eight Views of Ōmi
Evening Bell at Mii Temple

おもふそのあかつき契るはしめそ
とまつきく三井の入はいの鐘

Omou sono akatsuki chigiru hajime zo
mazu kiku Mitsui no iriai no kane

I think, the first thing I hear at daybreak
is the evening bell of the Mii temple

It is likely a variation from the following series by Katsukawa Shunkō

https://www.kosho.or.jp/products/detail.php?product_id=413750599

For technical reasons the alternative kanas are represented in their modern forms.

With regards,
I.Nagy
