Subject:Help with Unknown Seal Image
Posted By: Will Wed, Apr 22, 2026 IP: 129.222.125.57 Trying to figure out this painting. Here is the Chop Seal - is negative character seal with the red background? it seems to be a maybe 2x2? Song - Lin - Ju -shi ? Is the bottom jaggedness part of the seal - or just uneven application?

Posted By: rat Fri, Apr 24, 2026 seems to be two characters 吟石 "a chanting stone", the jagged bottom is probably deliberate but could be a result of damage and wear. For instance one scholar used visual evidence of seal wear to figure out the order in which one painter's undated works were painted (C.C. Reilly, Dong Qichang)
