Subject:Help in identifying the artist’s seal and inscription
Posted By: Kasia Tue, May 19, 2026 IP: 90.247.73.255

Hello, I’m hoping to identify the artist’s seal and inscription on a Chinese painting I own. I’d appreciate any insight into the translation, artist, or period. Thank you.

Qi Liangzhi (1931–2016) was the youngest daughter of the master painter Qi Baishi and a core successor of the second generation of the Qi school of painting. She excelled at painting shrimp, crabs, flowers, birds, and insects, her brushwork concise yet capturing both form and spirit. Having received personal instruction from her father from a young age, she was an important female artist in 20th-century Chinese painting.

With regards,
I.Nagy
