Could you identify the manufacturer?
Can you identify an approximate age?

Thank you for any assistance.

Dear Peter Wiles,

If no one has answered you yet...here are my thoughts.
The image shows a Japanese potter's mark on Satsuma-style ware, displaying the Shimazu clan crest (a cross within a circle) above the kanji characters 仙山 for "Senzan". The Shimazu feudal clan's "mon" - circle containing a cross-like shape - is widely used on Satsuma ceramics; however, its presence does not automatically mean a piece is genuine Satsuma ware. I assume that no one here - especially the experts who typically evaluate works - would act dishonestly. One needs to handle the piece and feel its texture, size, weight, and sometimes even its temperature to verify its authenticity. Occasionally, a minor slip-up by the maker can reveal that the item is a copy or a reworked piece. Please consult an expert located near you.

Best Regards,
Renato from Brazil
