Subject:Bird on a Plum Branch Silk Painting

This picture has been in my family since 1940's and I am very interested to know its origin and/ or value. It is painted on silk and measures approximately 26" X 28". Its is stamped and signed but I am unable to read the writing. Any information or speculation is welcome!

i think japanese, little monetary value, the characters are likely "chin ki"
